the real minority in the important sense of the word is the gay community in france isn’t it haha

i totally get what you are saying and don’t worry i do like paris very much but it’s still a huge huge problem that causes what like 100,000 people in france a lot of pain

like this is a silly example i realize but whenever i look at the comments on news articles, youtube videos, facebook posts, whatever, most of it is this incredibly fucked up racist and homophobic garbage that they view as completely right and logical. there is no recognition of of one’s own privilege in france and that is a huge problem that i notice every day in paris so yes paris is a wonderful city but i am allowed to hate the people and the things that attack me and countless other people every day? and it doesn’t seem like a minority of people after a while. the stuff i see these people say is the shit i only ever see in americans is when i accidentally end up on a white supremacist forum or an extremely conservative website. the french are a lot more open and matter-of-fact about their bullshit ideologies

do not get me wrong paris is great, paris is beautiful (weather excluded), but paris is also plagued with this sort of hatred that to me almost seems inherently french in the way that it is executed

and before u say it america sucks too i know

gosh i don’t mean to insult you but like it’s really not just her and the FN it’s so so so many of the french who are so hateful so racist and homophobic it makes me sick to live here

i mean there’s graffiti on the ground in my neighborhood and i just hate walking home after a shitty day to look down and see the shit like “on veut du boulot pas de mariage homo” or whatever it says, it is just so sickening

people act like paris is this lovely openminded city but it’s such a hateful shit hole unless you’re in the marais or the good parts of the 5th and 6th. i mean i guess the same can be said for new york and LA and all the other big cities in the US but i certainly don’t feel as much hatred when i’m over there than when i am in this supposedly glorious city of light and of love

i am not very familiar with the rest of france but if paris is supposed to be the open part i can’t imagine how awful the rest is
